He wants me to neaten the path edges
He can’t do it himself anymore
But he potters around the garden
On the days when he’s strong enough
He knows I don’t like it neat
I know he knows that
I’ll do what he wants
He knows that too
When he dies I’ll do it my way
He knows that too
He’s fine with all that
Because it’s how it looks now
That counts for him
I’m fine with all that
Because it’s how he feels now
That counts for me
