Depressing care
The blight of care
Leeching into life everywhere
Care just like she does
Care just like he does
Care because we have to
Care because we ought to
Care because no-one else will
Care because no-one else is left who can
Care because we do
Care the best I can
Untrained care
Unsupported care
Unpaid care
The cost is too high to count
And the walls of the cells we find ourselves in
Keep us trapped in our own loneliness
A thin lipped sad eyed loneliness
That no-one’s there to care about
I go to sleep most nights wondering
Whether death’s happier
when death comes sooner
