In Unstated You Can Find …
What Goes On
Shorter, day-by-day pieces that don’t quite fit in to the larger sections (below). These pieces are themselves organised along the following lines:
→ Good Sounds
Most days can be improved with the right music. Here are some of the sounds that stand out for me.
→ Today Was The Day
A mishmash of things that have made me think or act a little unexpectedly.
More To Explore
Here you’ll find the larger sections within ‘Unstated’. In more detail:
→ Deliberate Fragments
Whether we’d like it to be or not, life isn’t a neat and tidy experience. This section brings together all manner of fragments because life is made up of any number of fragments.
→ The People In Your Street
Listening is a wonderful way to learn. It is too easy to not hear. All of my life I’ve been the person that people – strangers and friends – talk to, about pretty well anything. If you give people the time and your attention, then they will talk. And if you listen, you’ll learn. If I write down their words it’s because I want to share what others have had to say to me; I want you to have the same chances to learn that I have.
Why Things Are Made
Here I’m offering ongoing notes and explanations about what lies behind some of the content within ‘Unstated’ – either as planned or as published.
The Textures Of Emotions
An attempt to categorise the emotions you’ll find, one way or another, throughout ‘Unstated’. It’s a different way of exploring what’s here.
Additional Odds And Ends
Longer items within ‘Things To Explore’ (items over 250 words) have the approximate number of words they entail indicated next to their title. (For example, ≅1,234.) A lot of us are just too busy these days. The word counts are there to give you an idea of the time you might need to read an item. (Depending on who you ask, it seems most of us read at around about 200 words a minute.)
My aim is to keep this site easy to use, so I’ll keep an eye on its structure and navigation as it grows. For now, this Site Map should give you a simple summary of the site’s content if you need it.
Does everything in our era need some small print? Possibly. So, some small print:
- ‘Unstated.name’ is a free web site. If I ever have anything for sale, that will be distinct and optional.
- On the whole, with just a few exceptions, out of respect I don’t include photos of people.
- The pictures on ‘Unstated’ capture real places, real things and occasionally real people. Where I capture someone, somewhere or something recognisable, that is not to imply anything documentary about the the image or any accompanying text. That you recognise someone, somewhere or something is incidental.
